Yuna, Yuni, Yuno

I've mixed feelings about going home this time around because the hardest of things are bearable when you got great friends. Anyway, I've always liked it when Maryam sings while I play. She (and 'Yuni'!) sang Dan Sebenarnya and some of the other songs during our small gathering last Friday night and it was really enjoyable. My index finger blistered the day after, but playing along with a good singer like her (and the rest of my friends there) made it worth all the pain of playing barre chords on those cruel Kapok steel strings (medium gauge.. or heavy). My lady fingers are just not that tough yet for playing too much barre on medium-heavy gauge strings.

Yesterday my friends and I almost missed our flight. That, I didn't tell my mother or anyone at home. If we weren't lucky to catch that plane, I wouldn't know exactly how to explain because I've travelled so much I'm not supposed to wrongly estimate time. It was rather a shame that we made that mistake.

Yuna EP (2008)

I actually like the raw room-recorded(?) version of Blue Sands that Yuna played on piano. Expected to listen to the same emotion that I felt listening to that, but to my disappointment the instruments intensative on the EP overshadowed the 'empty' feeling (sort of) that I captured from that song. Not that it's that bad, I just feel that it's not as copasetic as the one I used to hear on repeat. But thank you Yuna for signing my EP. The rest of yous should support her too.
