Rolled-up Twenties

Despite being very lame for putting forth Earth Hour, my friends and I actually did it and probably the only ones who did it in this nature-friendly campus.

Before that, I've always wondered how life would be like if I were to turn off my gadgets and stay in the dark at night listening to the silence of nothingness. It was fun actually, my friends and I were so into it apart from the lack of support from the community we live in. We just talked in the dark without clearly seeing each other's faces. Come to think of it, there's so much bonding humans (men and women) can do when we turn off the lights. Hehe..

I'm surprised at the innocence of a friend of mine who was so eager to save the earth that she went down to all floors, turning off the floor lights. She argued that she doesn't want her children to suffer from the effects of global warming. It made me smile a little. I was supportive, but I wasn't that enthusiastic.

We're so high up in the clouds, being fed with high education and high technology that we forgot the littlest things that we can do to make a difference in the world. I still strongly believe that each and everyone of us have the ability to, even though we're in different directions. It's just that some people are too scared of being called a fool by being different.

Maybe we were only able to save the earth by delaying 0.00001 hours of global warming but I'm just glad we did it. I almost never turn off the air regulator in my room, even though I go away for days. We were blinded by the lights when we switched on everything after that. We've been blinded all along.

ps. Midsem break is over. Fuck.
