The Tide Is High

It rained heavily for 3 straight days since Friday. The water levels rose to worrying levels by Saturday and on Sunday, most low-lying areas in Kuching was already flooded. Businesses and homes literally float through one of the wettest seasons we've had in months. Some family members have also been affected by this disaster, but thankfully the weather got better today. It hasn't rain that heavy yet, but everyone's keeping an eye on the weather. Read here for visuals along with various updates on the flood situations around Kuching.

I hope those affected by the flood are safe in their houses, especially those whose homes are near the streams and rivers. Lets pray that the weather will get better in the coming days so that we can move on with life.

On another note, I was in disbelief watching the news last night (Sunday night) because there was not even a syllable mentioned about the floods in mainstream media, especially Media Prima's TV3 prime news. They took the time to air visuals of people living near the sea complaining about big tides rupturing their homes somewhere in Sabah, but not the many people badly affected by one of the worst floods in Sarawak. How politically biased is that? Duhh. If you don't know what kind of politics I'm talking about, please do some extensive research your own.

edit [Jan13th, 1356] : Okay, someone told there was a brief mention in the news. Ooops.. my bad! But only that once, unfortunately.

The Gaza war is now over two weeks old. There are now more than 900 deaths as reported by Al Jazeera (the only media allowed to report in the war zones) at the time of writing. I feel helpless on this matter, but I hope the world now clearly see who the real aggressors are. Lets all unite and pray for the safety and strength of the Gazans in facing this terrible war. Surely prayer is mightier than any ammunitions.

The tide is high, but we shall all hold on.
