the Colour Conspiracy

Whoaa.. such bright colour for a winter wardrobe by SPAO Korea. Presenting.. SNSD (소녀시대)! These Korean girls are pretty and lively as hell, it's always fun to see them whatever they do! They make me feel smily, like Ai Otsuka songs that I love! Though I'm a little old for teen-hype pop, I must admit it that I'm sort of a fan of SNSD and K-pop in general.. hehehe.

Though I describe myself a minimalist, I really like seeing colours, especially bright ones. I am very sensitive to colour combinations because I'm so used to meticulously examining things around me by their colour and patterns. Most of the time I cannot really say my favourite colour because any colour generally makes me happy. I think colours really has effects on our psychology.. there must be a reason why the sky is blue, right?

SNSD-related again. I like the 'Gee' concept because the colours catch my attention.

It is probably weird of me, but here are some thoughts when I see colours :
  • Red - It makes me focus more and gives me courage when I feel nervous.
  • Blue - Calms me down, makes me think of the sky.. which is always a beautiful sight.
  • Green - When a person wears green, it reminds me of people who are hardworking.
  • Orange - Orange is an amazing colour that makes me happy, lifts my energy, reminds me of thirst-quenching oranges!
  • Purple - This colour makes me feel creative. When I look at it, it makes me feel that I'm able to create anything.
  • Pink - Heavily associated with feminism. The energy is a little less than red, it makes me feel kind and forgiving.
  • Maroon - Reminds me of elegance and respect. Thus, when I wear a maroon outfit it boosts my confidence.
  • Grey - I don't favor this colour, it is bland and makes me feel sleepy. Sometimes it appears elegant and suave.
  • Black - Reminds me of outer space and empty feeling, like a starting point.
Colours are used said to be used in oriental medicine too, such as chromatherapy. Energy imbalance can cause our health to deteriorate, so traditional medical practitioners in Asia  uses a certain colour to help regain balance in our energy. There is no scientific confirmation to that, but in a way, I think colours have an amazing effects to us. Colours are vastly gaining importance in our social behaviour too. They are most noticeably complementing our lives especially in fashion, medias etc; almost everything. This is why colour choice is important for branding and marketing, because people might remember better when ads are presented in a certain colour. So to know which colour is the best, big companies often leave it to the colour consultants.

So what colour gives you that funny tingly feeling? What is the colour you see when you fall in love? Gee~
