Chingu! 친구

This is the most memorable Korean word I can remember.. from the first day I heard it, it made me curious and now it sticks in my head. I find that it is used quite a lot in Korean shows and dramas. "Chingu" 친구 means "friend" in Korean. I don't know why it appeals to me the most, but it sounds very cute when you pronounce it and it has a good meaning too.

A good chingu is the one who knows when you need them the most. Even though sometimes you cannot be together the whole time because of other commitments, you know that they will watch your back from afar. A good chingu is one who inspires, the one who can put you together when you're in pieces and the one who brings colour in your life. Even family members or pets can be your best friend.

I thought I'd never complain, but sometimes it gets really sad when you're alone. Maybe with the presence of a friend, that loneliness will go away and happy memories are born. I hope my friends do well in life and have prosperous, healthy lives, wherever they may be. I am very thankful that I made wonderful friends as I go along in life.. and hope to make more. Meeting a "nam-ja chingu" would be lovely too.. hehe ^^
