Smell The Pages

Again, it's a day off for everyone today. I've spent my entire weekend completely wasted on things that don't matter in life or death. Which turns out to be a guilty pleasure afterall.. and now I'm under mild pressure for having to bear the consequences of it. It's 10am and I'm still doing nothing except watching my Google Talk come on and off and hitting the Refresh button on my browser while trying to check my Gmail in basic HTML view. Oh such a poor, unreliable internet connection that I'm served with..!

Sometimes I have so strange a taste in nearly everything, that my friends find it quite difficult to come to terms with. Well, my friends were weirded out when I was queuing up at the payment counter with a Newsweek that has the word Radical and Islam in the same breath at its frontpage. I'm short of being a religious or radical or a politically-influenced Muslim, but these things do interest me in some discrete ways.

Besides having distinct literature interests among my friends, I too, have a very sensitive immune system that catches the littlest exposure to any of the triggers. I sneezed for at least three times when I was in a used-books store.. but I love the classy smell of some old books. The age-old odour that are buried along with the stories in each of its pages.

ps. Masih belum habis membaca Jane Austen. Really, tak ada banyak masa nak baca!
