Last night a stranger came out of nowhere and before I even get to comprehend the situation, he was in the same frame as I was at one of the buildings in campus. He spoke in French, in Spanish but I only get to speak English to him. He asked if I can dance salsa and of course, I said no. I have no idea why he asked me that, prolly because we've just finished watching a dance carnival and he wants me to dance with him? He's exotically handsome and well-mannered and friendly but I was too impressed by his sweet speech that I could not process the conversation I was in. He said he's from one of the Arabic countries, Morocco that is. And he smells awfully good.
For all I know, he's probably the first stranger male in this campus who took my friendly handshake like a gentleman. The soft but firm grip of his manly hands, made mine felt tiny wrapped in his. After exchanging names, he asked me in Bahasa "Apa awak punya nombor?" before we parted. Unfortunately I wasn't brave enough to simply give my number to him. Does it make him some Casanova for learning a phrase in a foreign language, so he can use it to hit on girls?
Glad that there's a photo to remind me of the brief meeting. Such a coincidence that it was Valentine's day yesterday and I was wearing a shirt that says "for the sake of love" and a weird but sweet encounter as this, happened.
