Kampung Sungai Bedil Besar

So that was my weekend (Saturday and Sunday). If you've been carefully reading the previous post, you'd figure it out by now what it's about. I'm too lazy to explain the procedures, traditions and practices but to sum it up, it took about 3 days to complete all that was necessary, religion- and tradition-wise. On Friday set up the dais, prepare food and hennas on the fingers of the bridegrooms, Saturday for the solemnization (wedding vows!) and Sunday for the reception. Oh.. and there's a thanksgiving also on Tuesday night, which is an extension of the wedding ceremony but instead we'll be having light meals such as pulut kuning and coffee (or tea) with close families in the evening. Everything is held at the same place.

By the way, Kampung Sungai Bedil is where my mom's family originally settled before everyone moved into concrete walls. I grew up briefly there, for the first 4 years of my living. I don't know the names of people nor the locations of their homes, who's who and all that; but I'm very proud to be a tiny part of it.

Pictures in this post are the result of my "photography" skills with slight contrast editing using the GIMP. The first picture is the result of my experimentation with the software. I hope I've entertained your visual senses.. Hehehe. I'm a bad photographer, don't remind me!
