As much as I do not want to believe or read about horoscopes (or any other life forecast), the other day while waiting for my sister at a bookstore I grabbed a little square feng shui guide for the year 2009, written by a famous Feng Shui master who (to me) is just like another Chinese aunty at the wet market on a Sunday in Kuching. Anyway- I don't know what got me, but I began to read the contents and my eyes were quick to find the section where she forecasts on the Dragon's relationship with other zodiac animals.
I began with "Dragon and Tiger" and it said they go together very well in a relationship and could bloom into a "fiery" one. Nice huh? Okay- Then I moved on to the compatibility with Rabbit and then to Ox, but both paragraphs ended with repetitive positive forecasts, only flavoured with some negative ones here and there. I closed the book and put it back to the shelf because I refuse to be influenced further. Just another marketing strategy, I thought. Actually, I've read about it in the past. Dragon and tiger make a reckless, sexy, nerve-wrecking, adventurous, fiery, hot couple.
As much as I wanted to forget about that guilty pleasure reading the thing, on the way back to the hotel that we stayed at; I kept smiling when I think about it. Sentences from the book resonated in my head while I was struggling to put myself to sleep in that spacious junior suite. Then I thought maybe, just maybe- I want to believe again (and again) that dragon and tiger make a reckless, sexy, adventurous, nerve-wrecking, fiery, hot couple.
But I could have been very tired from the 120 km/h (on average) road trip that I began to be easily infected with such fantasy. Maybe not that tired because I wasn't driving, but I guess I was tired for my heart skipped many beats from the crazy speed that we were at. Besides, for your general knowledge; my religion does not endorse horoscopes.
Today is a holiday Monday. Happy new year to all Muslim friends!
I read about horoscopes too...though my bf doesnt like it. I dunno why. ahaaa...

hrm...i read horoscope almost everyday. it's not a bad thing really, it only drive us to do better in our daily life. It's not like horoscope says anytin or promote negativity..haha but yeah..wad's important is havin faith in urself :)
ReplyDeletetrue, it doesnt promote negativity but somehow it affects your mind afterward. if you read forecast books, they mention lots of positive comments but there are also neg ones.
ReplyDeleteMost ppl would remember the neg better than the pos ones (especially those who are superstitious) so they tend to behave unnaturally in their daily lives out of fear, due to these false beliefs..
that's my opinion!
