Got To Live Another Day

My body's aching.. ouch! Okay, I exaggerated. I just feel tired and very sleepy. Yesterday I went for my Sunday morning run and I can complete a lap without stopping! Yeehaa.

It's weird that you have so much energy for one day and then you're flat the day next. Actually, I skipped my routine afternoon nap yesterday and I was entirely awake the whole day til bedtime. I wonder if there's any drugs that I might have mistakenly took that made me so.. awake. Haha.

A friend in the UK experienced his first snow yesterday. It reminds me of how unfortunate I have been that I couldn't grab an opportunity to study overseas. It's the dying dream of mine. I'm thankful to be here, but it'd be so much better to be out there just like that friend of mine, seeing the world from a different angle. Worst still, he was in this university when we first came, before he went away. I told Irene that he gets to experience real Christmas now, just like in the movies. The snow, the ice skating, the many layers of clothings, Santa Clause. I don't know why, but I always have this notion that snow and winter is for Christmas. Maybe I watch too many movies.. or I don't really get the real purpose of Christmas.

And also, that's because I don't celebrate Christmas as a religious holiday. I celebrate it as a public holiday, which, I often celebrate along with those who celebrate Christmas. Hehe. That's the beauty of living in Sarawak. You can have a church opposite a mosque and nobody will be bitching about it in the news.

Speaking of snow, it reminded me of a joke my dad told me a long time ago. It goes something along the lines of : this guy, coming to London and experiencing his first winter, the snow and everything. Then when he came back to his hometown somewhere in Sarawak he told the people that in London you don't have to buy a freezer because they have a huge freezer outside already! Hehehe. Of course in this monotonous writing it's not funny, but when my dad told me it was really, funny.

Anyway, got to live another day.
