Last Thing On My Mind

Human beings are designed so complex that 95% of us do not have common ideas or thoughts on the things we perceive through our senses. Being misunderstood is a hurtful situation when the other person is not even willing to listen to you again. No chance to give your say, no chance to prove what you say, no chance to gain the trust of another human being- simply hurtful. But time goes on and on, no time to care if you screw up your last sentence before the end of a friendship.

Mom's friend : "Aih, lamak sik nangga nya tok. Dah bertunang kah?"

Mom : "Eh belum.. Sekolah pun belum abis!"

Basically, I'm old enough to be in a long-term relationship, old enough to be in another family, old enough to withstand a boring job just so I can wake up smiling to Mondays, with a loved one next to me; and old enough for a private kind of happiness. I guess I didn't see that until mom's friend pointed it out. Kenak sik tanyak terus if aku dah kawen ka belum? 

Yasmin Ahmad, a great filmmaker of the country passed away at about 11:25pm, July 25th. Al-Fatihah, Allah bless her soul. I wonder what was the last idea that she had for a film, if she was planning to make another one.
